@@CraigsChannel is it the same steps for a BDM-040?

I've not fitted one to a BDM-040, but it should be the same as the 030, that's actually easier to install as you don't need to mess with the ribbons inside, extremerate have a video on their channel

@@CraigsChannel yes I’ve seen and since I only want to remap the buttons I don’t need to solder(I don’t know if that’s the correct way to say weld) for R3 L3 and the touch pad it looks easier I’ve order mine from amazon looking forward to getting it tomorrown

Yeah you only need to solder for L3 and R3, tbh 99% of people just skip that as they only want say X O etc

They've came down quite a bit price wise compared to what they were, foe the money they're a really good price. Spec wise this one was only missing the lane assist I think

Never to late to ask questions 👍 Did you exit remap mode? You press the back button in the middle to enter it, set your K1, K2 etc, then hold it again to exit

Do you mean 4:58? It was just an earth connection, it was on the screw I remember at that tjme

@@CraigsChannelyes thats it, i had a spare screw and now know where its from, i havent screwed that back in, is it essential to do so? ive fitted the wheel and everything is fine. Not sure if its worth taking off to screw that in?

I'm really now sure! It just looks like an earth. I mean if everything is working it's totally your call if you want to refit it! I suffer OCD so I'd probably just fit it, buts that's me 😂

No that's why disconnect it, also the airbag light won't be on if you disconnect

@@CraigsChannel how long shiuld i wait after disconnecting it, And do you only disconnect the negative side or both positive and negative ?

People will probably say disconnect both, but as you'll see I only disconnect one side, done it to loads of cars now with no issues! So totally up to you, it'll only take you an extra 15secconds or so to remove the other one. As for waiting I just remove the airbag pretty much straight away

@@CraigsChannel do u not have to wait for the car to lose all power ? ive seen some ppl saying that. scared the airbag will blow up in my face lol

Tbh the airbag wouldn't go off even if it did have power you'd just get a fault code. The only reason an airbag should go off is when the car knows its been on a crash 😁 there won't be any power once you disconnect anyways. Also if your cars a 4 series open the door before you disconnect the battery as thr window on them goes down when you open the door

Have you tried the plastic version? I find them to be my favourite, I was never a fan of the metal ones

Yeah I'd install the triggers first, make sure they work and everything. Then fit the back button kit. Just make sure you're getting the right version as there's 4 now a BDM-010, 020, 030 and 040

@@CraigsChannel I’m pretty sure I have a 020 from just the triggers in the front but heard from some people Sony is reusing the triggers with a different board

If you hop on Amazon extremerate have a photo to show you how to tell, you hold down either R2 or L2 and they're all slightly different, match yours up and you know 👍

@@CraigsChannel I finally set up everything, everything works just fine, but when I try to map something it won’t map the face buttons

Are you holding the button on the back until the light comes on solid? Then you hold say X and K1, it should flash, then hold the button for 5 seconds until the light turns off

No delay as your just using the original inputs from the main board. Yeah at first you'll press them by mistake, everybody does, but after a few days you'll be used to them. If you're only installing the back buttons the haptic won't interfere, if you add the digital triggers it will

You should have just dropped them a message their customer service us normally super good. So the rod were to long? Maybe it was a manufacturing fault from the company who make the rods and extremerate didn't know! Is it all working now?

Risk? If you take your time there's no risk, thousands of people have fitted these back buttons with no issues

Yeah you'll just have to be careful you've enough room to move stuff about, just be careful and take your time. Also make sure you buy the right version and model of triggers

Yeah they're amazing cars, mines still in Spain as far as I'm aware. Did you get the e220 or 250?

It's been a long time since I messed with a PS4 Dualshock controller but what I remember, to put it into remap mode you held you finger up against the back to put it into remap mode, I cut the foil off mine to stop this and just used the manual mode

@@CraigsChannel thanks for the fast response! I only want manual mode so I cut the foil & wire off on installation & it still happens! Any ideas? You said it's been a while so no worries if not. I appreciate the reply either way!

Did you cut all the foil off or just a small portion?

@@CraigsChannel i believe i cut the wire & foil off completely. i might have to open the controller up to double check

I would, for the sake of 10mins of your time it'll be worth it. Like I say just make sure it's totally cut off, it's a horrible idea in the first place, manual was so much better

Should be around 62.5nm, my torque wrench isn't very accurate so just go by hand. I've never had an issue yet and tbh you'd know if the steering wheel was getting loose before it fell off lol

Yeah the trigger still work as normal, unless you're adding digital triggers

If you play games like Fifa and Gran Turismo you don't need digital triggers but if you play CoD they help

You're hands develop muscle memory to any back buttons or controllers you use 👍

Yeah R3 and L3 requires soldering. You can change the button layout in most games so you could change what ever R3 is to something else

I suffer pretty bad anxiety unfortunately, some times my hands are ok then other times they shake like a 100 year old man 😂

Yeah still using the back buttons loads of my friends have the kit also. Tbh I can't play without it and the quality is really good

Also when i hold it down for 5 seconds it blinks and does not stay on

I'm really not sure? Maybe it was an optional extra or something, it happens on some cars

@@CraigsChannel that’s the only one ever ever seen with that. I actually prefer it. It’s more streamlined without the exposed cup holders

This was my friends car, he just said with him selling it could I make a video for the new potential owner. The guy said he watched the video and was sold! It was really ahead of it's time for tech, but it's a little dated now. It was terrible on fuel as you'd imagine 😂

Hi, yeah you can remap L3 or R3, but you'll need to do a tiny bit soldering. Personally I only used O and X, for jump and crouch when playing CoD. You could just swap your button layout round if you don't wish to solder

Yeah you can do them together, but what I normally say to people is do one at a time. Reason being, if something doesn't work, you know which one to fix, if you fit them together you might not know which ones at fault. Totally your call though, that's just how I usually do it

Hi, you might have a BDM-030. Did you buy the kit on Amazon? If you did have a flick through their photos, they show you how to tell which model you have by pressing down R2 or L2

It's so annoying Sony keep changing stuff, if only they'd fix the stick drift issue! Glad you've figured out which version you've got, I thought that would he the issue. I've been meaning to make a video on the BDM-030 back buttons install and the clicky triggers. The back buttons on the 30 is a lot easier than the 10 and 20

I'm pretty sure they'll have just been the standard rims, my friend who owned it never changed anything apart from spraying them black. They've actually gone up in value since he sold his, nice drive but terrible on fuel as you'd imagine being a 6.2 litre 😂

Are you using a different controller? The version of your kit might not be compatible with the controller

Just had to clean out a bit of debris, only thing I haven’t checked is the cable going into the paddles (opened it without disassembling paddles bc it’s a nightmare) Other than that I’ll probably have to see if I can get a couple replacement ribbon cables shipped to the UK lol. Oh I thought you meant your controller had drift so you got a new one! Drift is an absolute nightmare on these, I've had to open a few and clean inside the potentiometer things, or even worse replace them. I'd just double and triple check one of them cables isn't the wrong way... you think that's the issue and personally so do I

Best way to check now is by pressing L2 or R2, if you pop on Amazon extremerate show you the difference to see which version you have 👍

No unfortunately you can only map one button per map, so only O or X on their own

You can map any button, you just can't have 2 buttons to one paddel

Is that the centre ones? Like the ones on that back piece of plastic. Maybe pop the cover off and check they're lined up properly. I know you don't get the same kind of click from k1 k2 as you do them, k1 and k2 are a really solid click

Diesel engines never really sound good, they're always noisey, sound like tractors 😂 good on fuel though compared to say a petrol

@@CraigsChannel i had e 250 cdi and 220 cdi both coupe and everything was superb ( 5.1 liter on highway 140 km/ h ) but sound of engine when i stop was terrible. Benz is great but next one must be V6 gasoline. On audi A5 coupe tdi engine i dont hear it at all but everything else was better on Benz.

If you have a quick look through my videos you'll see my friends CLS63 what I did a video on 6.2 V8 sounded amazing but terrible on fuel here in the UK around 12mpg

I'm really not sure on that one, if you look on a video and zoom in to see if they look a similar fit. My friend lives in the US, he tried the Tomsin stuff and likes it all, maybe all the manufacturers use a similar mold

Thank you for coming to the channel. You'll have to let me know if they fit or not! There's a good chance they will, but you'd only know by testing. I'm still in two minds if I should buy the Edge, or if its a waste of money

@@CraigsChannel I feel that brotha I want to buy the Edge as well tbh but also don’t know if it’s worth it tbh but I think after a lot of research it’s worth it cause you can swap the sticks after stick drift and you get adjustable triggers and the 2 back paddles only reason I haven’t got it yet is because the 2 back paddles tbh I kinda want 4

@@CraigsChannel and I also tried to put the clicky triggers on but wasted good time because I had the wrong controller even tho I thought it was a 020 it was a 030 smh but I did have a 020 to try it on after a long struggle I got the triggers on but now the L2 and L1 don’t work I’m not too sure why some folks say to try the old ribbon cables for the triggers instead of the one that comes in the kit, and I didn’t get to try the tomsin paddles since I struggled so much with the triggers smh 🤦🏾‍♂️ I’ll try again on Saturday as that is my other day off I wasted my day off today lol but I just look at it as a lesson learned trial and error 💯
